I am currently reading the Pet Sounds book in the 33 1/3 series. I love this series because I learn something new each time I read a chapter in one of these books. So far, I have read the Pixies Doolittle, Beatles Let it Be and now The Beach Boys.Today, the bit of information I have learned is that Surfer Girl was the first song that Brian Wilson wrote and that it was inspired by When You Wish Upon a Star by Jiminy Cricket. Brian Wilson used to sing it a lot as a child and if you think about it, the similarities are huge. What a great song. I feel so much smarter now.
